PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption when the voltage is converted in a DC/DC converter generating an output voltage which is higher than, or lower than, or equal to an input DC voltage. SOLUTION: An input DC voltage supply terminal T<SB>IN</SB>is connected with one end of a coil L having the other end connected with a smoothing capacitor C and a load Z<SB>L</SB>. A switching driver DRV sustains a second switch S2 in off state and performs on/off control of a first switch S1 and a third switch S3 alternately so that a DC/DC converter performs step-down operation. The DC/DC converter performs step-up operation when switching control of three switches S1-S3 by the switching driver DRV is altered. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
