PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator cleaning device capable of surely and safely removing dust such as dust ball deposited on an apparatus and the other arranging member in a hoistway of an elevator, and a cleaning method for cleaning the dust sticking in the hoistway of the elevator. SOLUTION: An air flow generator 1 generates an air flow, and is arranged in a machine room 7 storing a driving device of a car arranged above a top part of the hoistway 11 lifting the car 12. The air flow generated from the air flow generator is supplied to a hose drum 3 placed on the car via a drum hose 2. The air flow is supplied to an air flow blowoff means 5 from this hose drum.
