PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing compression and expansion instrument which can be intended to reduce a circuit scale, and further to reduce cost. SOLUTION: This structure comprises a memory card 504 for storing a plurality of types of programs for image processing and compression processing for image data of a read copy from a monochrome reader 501 and a color reader 502, and an image processing compression and expansion part 503 which reads out one program from the memory card 504, image-processes the image data of the read copy, and then compression-processes the data.
