PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress overshooting of a temperature of hot supply water caused when resuming hot water supply after a shutdown. SOLUTION: When the water heater 1 is right after the end of hot water supply operation, an openingθof a mixing valve 3 is set on a basis of a detected temperature T0 of a cold water temperature sensor 13, a detected temperature T1 of an outlet temperature sensor 14, and a control target temperature Ts to resume the hot water supply operation. If it is right after the end of reheating operation, the openingθof the mixing valve is set on the basis of the detected temperature T0 of the cold water temperature sensor 13, a detected temperature T2 of an intermediate temperature sensor 16, and the control target temperature Ts to resume the hot water supply operation.
