<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of always forming an excellent image by preventing the occurrence of image defects due to the occurrence of the flowability decrease and aggregation of toner due to the excessive temperature of a developing device while properly keeping the temperature of a fixing device even in a continuous double-sided printing. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with: the fixing device including a fixing member, a heater heating the fixing member, a first temperature detecting means detecting the temperature of the fixing member, and a pressure member which is in press-contact with the fixing member and in which a nip portion is formed between the pressure member and the fixing member; the developing device developing a toner image; and an automatic both side mechanism for performing both side printing. In the image forming apparatus, a second temperature detecting means is provided in the developing device or on its outer surface. When the second temperature detecting means detects a first set temperature or more, during both side printing or the like, the temperature of the heater of a fixing roller is reduced up to a second set temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
