PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive reciprocating fluid machine which assures sliding performance and sealing performance between a piston and a cylinder bore. SOLUTION: In the reciprocating fluid machine, the piston 18 slides while in contact with the cylinder bore 8 via a coating layer 23 covering a side face 23 of the piston 18.
