Besom with plastics bristles - has fixture of bristles to wooden handle in form of sheath with retaining pins and stop

The besom, for sweeping leaves and for similar outdoor use, has a wooden handle (2) to which are fixed plastic bristles by a plastics fixture (3). The fixture consists of three moulded sections. It has a main sheath (4) which is inserted directly over the handle end. The sheath has a series of hollow pins (7) round it, between which are slots in which the bristles are fixed. The back end of each bristle has a crosswise stop (9) which rests against the back of the adjacent pins. The back of the main sheath, level with the pins has a collar (5) over it.
