A charger for managing information used in a communication terminal and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to conveniently confirm his call pattern and select a suitable communication rate system by backing up the used information, stored in a communication terminal, and analyzing the user's patterns in the use of the communication terminal. A charger(220) comprises a constant voltage generation part(310) and a terminal data management part(320). The constant voltage generation part(310) creates regular DC voltage from input power, supplies the created DC voltage to a communication terminal connected through a certain port(330), and charges the battery of the communication terminal. The terminal data management part(320) accesses the database of the communication terminal, connected through the port(330), and backs up the used information of the communication terminal. The terminal-used backup information is read by a computer connected to the port(330) so that it can be used in analyzing the user's patterns in the use of the communication terminal.
