<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument panel capable of surely breaking a surface layer along an intended line. <P>SOLUTION: An air bag 6 is installed in an instrument panel body 1 constituted of a base material layer 2 and the surface layer 3. A tear line of the instrument panel body 1 forming a tear line 2a cleaving when the air bag 6 expands is formed of a center horizontal line-shaped groove 2f and left and right vertical line-shaped grooves 2d and 2e successively provided at both ends of a center horizontal line on a rear face of the base material layer 2. The left and right vertical line-shaped grooves 2d and 2e are formed of V-grooves constituted of bottom faces 2i substantially parallel to the swelling direction of the air bag 6 and bottom faces 2j inclined in a lying direction in relation to the swelling direction of the air bag 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
