PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas expansion compressor as a core of a thermal energy converter for converting combustion heat, exhaust heat from cogeneration power plant, exhaust heat from automobile engines, solar heat, and combustion heat of biomass into various easily-to-use energies in production activities where methods for regenerating a variety of heat energies disposed off wastefully as hot/cold heat energies for heating, cooling, and hot-water supply usable by people by re-use these heat energies are groped and new energy systems for realizing it is desired. SOLUTION: A system concept in which a gas expansion machine, a refrigerant compressor, and an electric motor driven by utilizing a heat source as well as an electric power and having high performance and practical use are combined with each other in a power transmission relation. To materialize it, a mechanism of a new expansion compressor, a technology for realizing the mechanism, and a technical policy for commercialize the new expansion compressor system on the basis of them are clearly provided.
