The rear side of a solar cell (1) is attached to a solar cell cooler (2) and connected via a pipe system (3) to a remote cooling device (7). The solar cell cooler is preferably connected to a stirling engine (4) which drives a pump (6) via a shaft (5). The stirling engine is preferably a low-temperature stirling engine. The temperature difference of the engine is between 20 and 60 K.
