Injector (1) has actuator (10), a control chamber (12) fed by control valve (9), which is actuated by the actuator. Injector has a nozzle body with injection opening and a nozzle pin. Pressure reservoir is arranged between control valve and nozzle body. The volume control valve divides the pressure reservoir into high-pressure source connected reservoir part (25) at control chamber side and another reservoir part at nozzle body side.
