PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying device for a recording medium that eliminates water drop irregularity at a back end and gives no influence on print qualities. SOLUTION: Dry air blown from an air duct 8 through a nozzle 2A to a base face side (rearside of a recording faceside) of a cut recording paper 1 is circulated to produce a swirl in a triangular space formed by the cut recording paper 1, a squeeze roller pair 7, a rubber blade 4, a guide 5, the air duct 8 and a guide 3. This increases air pressure in the triangular space to press water drops into flat shapes and increases the drying efficiency. In order to obtain the above effect, it is necessary to maintain an airtight state in the triangular space while the cut recording paper 11 is conveyed. Therefore, a rubber blade 4 is disposed to fill in a gap between the squeeze roller pair 7 and the air duct 8. In order to prevent inhibition of circulation of drying air by the guide 3 and the guide 5 occupying the triangular space, it is necessary to keep an air flow passage for the drying air, and therefore, the guide 3 and the guide 5 are structured to have ribs around the axes to use a space between ribs as an air flow passage.
