To reduce the quantity of use of panels of an airbag that is inflated so that a groove extends in the vertical direction between a left chamber and a right chamber. The airbag (1) has a front chamber (2) located on the frontmost side as viewed from an occupant; the left chamber (3) continuing to the front chamber (2) and inflated on the forward left side of the occupant; and the right chamber (4) inflated on the forward right of the occupant. When the airbag (1) is in an inflated state, there is no bridging member, such as a tie bar, between the forward ends of the left chamber (2) and the right chamber (4), and the groove (6) formed between the forward ends of the left chamber (3) and the right chamber (4) is open toward the occupant and continuously extends from the upper part to the lower part of the airbag (1). A tether belt (7) is installed between the upper part of the deepest section of the groove (6) and the bottom section of the airbag (1), and this allows the upper part of the groove (6) to be pulled into the airbag (1).
