PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous dispersion type pressure-sensitive adhesive composition that exhibits satisfactory pressure-sensitive adhesive properties and can suppress the terminal peeling. SOLUTION: The aqueous dispersion type pressure-sensitive adhesive composition is obtained by polymerizing a monomer mixture, mainly composed of an alkyl (meth)acrylate ester and containing a nitrogen-containing monomer and a silane-based monomer copolymerizable therewith, and contains a polymer containing substantially no acid residue. Thus, a crosslinking reaction by a polyvalent metal ion is avoided, to thereby inhibit the increase of the ratio of solvent-insolubles and the exudation of low-molecular weight components and prevent the reduction with time in pressure-sensitive adhesive properties, particularly the terminal peeling.
