PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer replication volumes between and among storage devices in a storage system comprising a plurality of storage devices. SOLUTION: When the replication volumes are transferred from a storage device 20A to a storage device 20B, a virtualization device 52 sets a path to the storage device 20B. The storage device 20B then prepares a differential bitmap in order to receive access requests. When the preparation is completed, the virtualization device 52 makes access requests to the storage device 20B. The storage device 20B then hands over the access requests to the storage device 20A. Subsequently, the storage device 20A performs a process so that the access requests are reflected in a disk device 24 and performs an emergency destage of storing data in a cache into the disk device 24. When the emergency destage is ended, the storage device 20B connects to an external storage device 70 and hands over access requests to the external storage device 70. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
