<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus designed to control shift to a power-saving mode in accordance with a use condition. <P>SOLUTION: Upon receiving print jobs during the measurement of a power-saving mode transit time by a power-saving timer, a laser printer 1 executes the predetermined number n of jobs while counting by the power-saving timer is continued. When the power-saving timer counts up the power-saving mode transient time, the laser printer shifts to the power-saving mode. When the number of jobs received during the counting of the power-saving mode transient time by the power-saving timer reaches the predetermined number n, the laser printer 1 resets the counter of the power-saving timer. Therefor, shift to the power-saving mode can be controlled in accordance with a use condition, and efficient power-saving can be realized as well as an improvement in the utility of the laser printer 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
