<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-retaining material capable of surely preventing contamination of molten steel, which is caused by air oxidation and reaction of a heat-retaining material; and to provide a continuous casting method for obtaining cast slab excellent in cleanliness. <P>SOLUTION: A heat-retaining material for a molten steel surface has≤5 mass% SiO<SB>2</SB>content, has 1.1-2.0 CaO/Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>mass ratio, has≥10 mass% and <30 mass% MgO content, and contains Ti. A continuous casting method for steel adds the above heat-retaining material for a molten steel surface onto the molten steel surface in a tundish. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
