The invention relates to the use of polyalkyl ester for reducing the temperature in a lubricating oil composition. The polyalkyl ester has a specific viscosity ?<SUB>sp</SUB>/<SUB>c</SUB> of between 5 and 30 ml/g, measured in chloroform at 25 °C.
