PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device for allowing even a user difficult to depend on hearing (for example, a hearing-impaired person) to monitor progress conditions in communication, by transforming sound from a speaker into means easy to check by visual or tactile recognition such as light, vibration, and current. SOLUTION: A facsimile device 100 comprises: a modulation means 7 for modulating a signal, which drives a speaker 5; into strength of current; a light-emitting means 8 for emitting light, based on the strength of the modulated current; a display means 9 for displaying with characters or patterns; a vision means 10 for changing intensity of luminescence; a vibration means 11 for changing a vibration pattern; a control means 4 for controlling the whole; an image reading means 13 composed of a scanner etc. for reading a document image; and a storage means 12 for storing a monitor signal.
