<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device in which luminescent chromaticity can be regulated easily in accordance with desired emission characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device comprises an LED (Light Emitting Diode) chip 2 of blue light emission type arranged in a recess 7. The LED chip 2 is covered with a resin layer 9 containing yellow phosphor produced by mixing/dispersing yellow phosphor into transparent resin. In the opening of the recess 7, a red phosphor sheet 10 containing red phosphor is arranged.
