PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tilt sensor capable of regulating a displacement of a moving object to prevent erroneous detection, when an abrupt acceleration such as vibration/impact other than a usual objective inclination is applied. SOLUTION: This tilt sensor 1 detects the inclination of a detected object attached with a container 2, by detecting a change of an electrostatic capacitance when the conductive moving object 6 moving while receiving an acceleration moves in a passage formed in the container 2 sealed with the moving object 6. A relation Y>X>Z is satisfied where Y represents a passage width when the moving object 6 is located at a regular position, X represents a passage width of the passage occupied when the moving object 6 is brought into an inclined condition, and Z represents a diameter of the moving object 6. The moving object 6 is difficult to get into the narrow passage of the passage width X to prevent the erroneous detection, when the moving object 6 located at the regular position receives the abrupt acceleration to be displaced greatly.
