<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve a known wire ring anchor to be reformed into one adaptable for a special assembly. <P>SOLUTION: A rope ring 15 covered with at least one protecting sleeve can be fixed to a floor 12 with both rope ends 13, 14 of a wire rope anchor to be used for a rockfall/avalanche protecting system, in particular. The rope ends 13, 14 are fastened to each other together with a connection member 20. The connection member 20 has a connection part 22 on a side, not facing the rope ends 13, 14, which is connected to a longitudinal element 25 to be fixed into the floor 12. In this way, the wire rope anchor can be connected to a conventional anchor rod equivalent to the longitudinal element. A drill pipe can be left in the floor, following drilling.
