PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition having oxygen absorbing power which has high oxygen absorbing power, quickly removes oxygen in a packaging material, and can reduce the odor as much as possible after absorbing oxygen, and a package using the same. SOLUTION: The resin composition having oxygen absorbing power comprises at least a thermoplastic resin which reduces the energy of dissociation of a C-H bonding and an olefin resin composed of a straight-chain low density polyethylene having a short branched structure whose comonomer component has not more than 10 carbon atoms. The package (A) has a layer structure constituted of a barrier base material layer (1)/an adhesive layer (2)/a support layer (4) [a support layer (4a)/an oxygen absorbing power layer (3)/a support layer (4b)].
