PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound useful for producing a photocatalyst demonstrating a photocatalytic function by the irradiation of not only ultraviolet rays but also visible light.

SOLUTION: The general formula of a new heteropolyacid salt is denoted as equation (1): K14[OäRey(α2-P2W17O61)}2] xH2O (1) (wherein, y is Cl or OH; x is an integer of 1 to 100). The general formula of a new heteropolyacid salt is denoted as equation (2): K4[PW11ReO40] xH2O (2) (wherein, x is an integer of 1 to 100).
