The lower front area of the vehicle comprises the two wheels (10), two longitudinal members (4) of the frame (3) and two laterally positioned sills (7). In case of a head-on collision the wheels (10) are pushed into a tilted position with their front areas pointing towards each other. The new design of a vehicle body is equipped with a compensating structure (9) with a conical front opening (13) at each of the sills (7) accommodating the rear areas of the wheels (10) in case of a crash. A vertical rotation is prevented by the specific shapes of the spaces (13).
