The energy recuperator consists of a cylinder containing a spring compressed by a cable (K) as it is tensioned by a wheel (A2) pressed against the tyre of a bicycle wheel and wound onto a pinion (C2) with a ratchet mechanism (F, C1) to prevent it unwinding. When the ratchet pawl (F) is disengaged its toothed wheel (C1) is pressed against gear (B1) driving the pressure wheel (A2) and transmitting a power to the bicycle wheel to assist it in starting off.
