Groups 25, 25a of interchangeable yarn feeders, together with devices for transmitting movements thereto and comprising levers 23, 23a and actuating members 24, 24a, are carried in brackets 19, 19a clamped to carriers 13, 13a pivoted, either to machine pillars 2, 2a, or to rods parallel to the pillars and adjustable therearound, so that the assemblies may be swung between an operative position adjacent to the needle cylinder or cylinders and an inoperative position away therefrom. The levers 23, 23a are operated through Bowden cables, such as 52, located respectively above and (in the case of cables 52) below the fulcrum 22, 22a of the levers. Screws 29 on the feeders slide in suitably profiled slots 30a, 30b, 30c, in a guide plate 30, to cause the feeder noses to dip and rise as necessary, as the feeders slide. Trapper blocks 40, 40a, operated by Bowden cables 53, may be mounted, as shown, on the lower cam box 8 of a superposed cylinder machine, or on the lower parts of the brackets 19, 19a. To each carrier 13, 13a may be attached a plate 41 carrying yarn guiding pot eyes 42. |
