PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a mesh fabric for a screen plate which enables easy attainment of the mesh fabric having small meshes and being thin and also enables lessening of a difference in the degrees of strength and extension between warp and weft in the mesh fabric, and a manufacturing method of the screen plate. SOLUTION: In the case of manufacturing the mesh fabric constituting screen meshes for printing, a weaving machine and a reed are prepared and also metallic thin wires constituting the warp and the weft are provided. A plurality of pieces of the warp are each passed through the reed, and in a state of a pitch of arrangement of the weft being set by the weaving machine, a plurality of pieces of the weft are woven in so that they are at right angles to (intersect perpendicularly) the warp, so as to form a fabric intermediate. On the occasion, the weft is woven in to be more than the warp so that the pitch of arrangement of the weft is narrower than that of the warp. Successively the fabric intermediate is rolled so as to flatten the intersecting portions of the warp and the weft in the fabric intermediate. Thereby the mesh fabric is obtained.
