PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selecting means which can continue printing at a user's own responsibility even after an ink end and can suppress a wast of ink to the minimum in an inkjet recorder with a soft ink end detection. SOLUTION: The inkjet recorder which carries out printing on the basis of printing data comprises an ink consumption counting means for calculating a consumption of ink stored in an ink cartridge and acquiring an ink consumption counter value of the ink cartridge; an ink end determination means for detecting the ink end when the ink consumption counter value of the ink cartridge reaches a predetermined value by the ink consumption counting means; and a continued printing selection means for enabling printing by releasing an ink end protection for suspending a printing action when the ink end is detected by the ink end determination means.
