The motor vehicle lamp (1) has a bulb (2) and a light guide (4)with a light entry face (3) within the illumination area of the bulb and a light outlet face (6) extending along the guide. On the side opposite the outlet face is a light deflection section (7)with notched faces (8) to direct light out of the outlet face. The lateral defining faces (10a,b) of the deflection section define parabolic surfaces.
