<p>This invention provides a thermostat device that is incorporated in a cooling water passage in an engine (1) and comprises a thermal expansion body (15) which is incorporated in an operating part (7) and undergoes thermal expansion or contraction upon a change in temperature of cooling water. The axial length of the operating part (7) is changed through the thermal expansion or contraction of the thermal expansion body (15) to open/close a valve disposed in the cooling water passage. The thermal expansion body (15) comprises a first thermal expansion body (15a), which has a low thermal expansion start temperature and a low thermal expansion response speed, and a second thermal expansion body (15b) which has a thermal expansion start temperature above that of the first thermal expansion body (15a) and has a higher thermal expansion response speed than the first thermal expansion body (15a).</p> |
