<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoder capable of obtaining a high compression rate by a comparatively light processing load. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 2 generates a prediction value of a target pixel processed by a prediction method used in prediction encoding processing. The apparatus 2 compares the generated prediction value with a pixel value of the target pixel. When the pixel value of the target pixel coincides with the prediction value, the apparatus 2 does not execute color conversion processing for the target pixel, and encodes coincidence information indicating that coincidence occurs between the pixel value of the target pixel and the prediction value. When the pixel value of the target pixel does not coincide with the prediction value, the apparatus 2 applies color conversion to a prediction error value calculated for the target pixel, and encodes the color-converted prediction error value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
