<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer or a substrate for a display panel which can adjust a cell gap without affecting the thickness of a color filter layer. <P>SOLUTION: A first element 141a of a spacer is formed in a shape which increases or decreases in lateral width from one end to the other end along a center line L<SB>11</SB>and at least a portion of the second element 142a is stacked on the first element 141a, so that when the first element 141a and the second element 142a shift in relative position relation along the center line L<SB>11</SB>, the area of a stacked part between the first element 141a and the second element 142a increases or decreases. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
