PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet treatment device capable of performing skew correction and accurate punching operation. SOLUTION: A first and a second transport roller are installed one by one from upstream to the downstream in the sheet transporting path, whereby sheets of paper are transported from upstream to downstream, and a punch unit is installed between the two rollers so that a boring blade of the punch unit can protrude to the sheet transporting path, and the position of the blade is controlled according to the transported condition of the sheet. A control part protrudes the blade to the sheet transporting path before the leading edge of the sheet reaches the punch unit, corrects the skew by abutting the leading edge of the sheet to the blade, and applies a punching process to the sheet by retracting the blade after correction of the skew once from the sheet transporting path, transporting the sheet to downstream, and again protruding the blade.
