PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method of a printing plate which enables easy removal of a debris brought about by ablation or a residue of a coating after simple development from a printing press, and the printing press. SOLUTION: The cleaning method of the printing plate comprises a mounting process wherein the printing plate P1 made by the ablation with laser irradiation is mounted on the outer circumference of a plate cylinder 10 provided in the printing press, and a removing process wherein the debris on the surface of the printing plate P1 is removed by rotating the plate cylinder 10 and a tubular body 50 having an adhesive provided on the surface, in a state that the tubular body 50 is brought into contact with the printing plate P1.
