OPTICAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM, OPTICAL TRANSMITTER, AND OPTICAL RECEIVING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that an increase of number of light emitting elements is effective for improving transmission rate of multi-valued optical transmission, however in a system in which optical outputs from a plurality of light emitting elements are added, a deterioration of transmission quality by common mode noise exists notably since common mode noise contained in each optical output is added.

SOLUTION: Data is assigned to the difference of two optical outputs and transmitted. Concretely, in an optical transmitter 102, data Dt which should be transmitted is converted to multi-valued optical signals OSm1 and OSm2, and the converted multi-valued optical signals are transmitted to an optical receiving device 103. The optical receiving device 103 reconstructs the data Dt which is previously assigned to the difference of electrical signals ESr1 and ESr2 which were converted from the multi-valued optical signals OSm1 and OSm2.
