PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the quality of an image is deteriorated if there exists a variation in characteristics of a driving signal generation part. SOLUTION: A printing apparatus has an element driven for forming a dot, a first driving signal generation part and a second driving signal generation part for generating the driving signal for driving the element, and a controller which generates the first driving signal at the first driving signal generation part and the second driving signal different from the first driving signal at the second driving signal generation part when a dot with a predetermined size at a certain timing, and generates the second driving signal at the first driving signal generation part and the first driving signal at the second driving signal generation part when the dot with the predetermined size is formed at a different timing. The printing apparatus alternately repeats a dot forming operation for forming the dot on a medium while a relative position between the element and the medium is changed, and a conveying operation for conveying the medium.
