<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for a fuel cell capable of restraining ion from mixing or continuous mixing into coolant in a coolant flow passage. <P>SOLUTION: (1) This is the separator 18 for the fuel cell of which one face is a gas flow passage surface 40 and the other face is a coolant flow passage face 41, and an ion adsorbent 42 is installed at the coolant passage face 41 of the separator 18. (2) The ion adsorbent 42 is a metal ion adsorbent 42A. (3) Other than the metal ion adsorbent 42A, the ion adsorbent 42 contains an anion adsorbent 42B.
