PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrophobilizing/solid-liquid separating agent which is a combination of powder of waste gypsum being industrial waste, an ionic dehydrating agent and powdery aluminum sulfate and is used for separating a solid and water from filthy water. SOLUTION: The hydrophobilizing/solid-liquid separating agent for treating filthy water is obtained by uniformly mixing gypsum or powder of a gypsum board of 100 parts weight, the ionic dehydrating agent of 0.1-2 parts weight and powdery aluminum sulfate of 0.1-3 parts weight. The obtained hydrophobilizing/solid-liquid separating agent is powder and can easily hydrophobilize, flocculate, dehydrate and separate filthy water into the solid and water.
