A system and a method for shortening input processes in a computer are provided to offer a user a useful function among the functions provided from application software and quick usage of the useful function case by case. A shortened input information database(43) stores shortened input information of each task. A shortened input information object task selecting module(41) checks a type of the task performed by using the application software. A shortened input information searching module(42) searches the shortened input information fit for the checked task type from the shortened input information database. A shortened input information displaying module(44) provides the user with the searched shortened input information to enable the user to check/use the searched shortened input information. The shortened input information is a pair of a name of the function of the application software, and shortcut key or key combination information for executing the function.
