摘要 <p>Analysis is made on whether there is any correlation between the genetic polymorphisms in tryptophan hydroxylase-2 (TPH2) and the response to an anti-depressant agent. As a result, a genetic polymorphism useful for the prediction of the response to an anti-depressant is found in a promoter region of TPH2 gene, and it becomes possible to predict the response to an anti-depressant with good accuracy by using the genetic polymorphism. It is also found that genetic polymorphisms of dopamine D2 receptor (DRD2) and tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) are useful for the prediction of the response to an anti-depressant agent. The genetic polymorphisms are useful for the diagnosis or diagnosis in the treatment of depression using an anti-depressant agent, particularly a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI).</p>
