PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foamed molded body which is excellent in lightweight property by a high foaming ratio, and does not have the reduction of rigidity by voids or the like, and to provide a manufacturing method by which especially, a box-shaped molded body can easily be obtained. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method for the foamed molded body manufactures the foamed molded body by injecting a molten mixture of a thermoplastic resin and a foaming agent into dies. In the manufacturing method, the molten mixture which is from 80% to 97% of a full filling amount is injection-filled into the dies being constituted of a fixed die and a movable die which can advance and retract, and of which the initial cavity clearance t<SB>0</SB>is from 0.8 mm to 3.0 mm.
