<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed optical transmission system and high-speed optical transmission method in which transmission characteristic deterioration caused by wavelength dispersion of an optical fiber is enhanced using a pre-chirp effect. <P>SOLUTION: In the high-speed optical transmission system and high-speed optical transmission method, a single-mode optical fiber having a hole or a single-mode optical fiber shifting a cutoff wavelength to a short wavelength side rather than ordinary SMF (with a zero diffusion wavelength of 1.3 μm) is used as a transmission line and a pre-chirp effect is generated, so that transmission characteristic deterioration is enhanced in over wide wavelength areas, and that high-speed optical transmission is achieved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
