The joint has a metallic press fitting (2), which has a section accommodating a sealing unit. A metallic conduit pipe is retractable in the press fitting. The press fitting has a cylindrical section (6) whose inner wall has a profiled and/or roughened contact surface (7). The press fitting is dimensioned in reference to the conduit. The contact surface is elevated according to the pressing of the axial resistor for the pushed-in conduit. An independent claim is also included for a press fitting for producing a tube press connection.
