<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which has a wide view angle and high display quality. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display is equipped with a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the first substrate and second substrate, and a plurality of pixel parts 7 which include reflection areas R3 and transmission ares R2 and are provided in a matrix in a first direction d1 and a second direction d2. Each pixel part 7 has a pixel electrode 15, and a projection part which is provided on the second substrate, overlaps with the reflection area R3, is disposed beyond a peripheral edge of the pixel electrode in the second direction d2, and projects on the first substrate side to make the thickness of the liquid crystal layer opposite the reflection area thinner than that opposite the transmission area R2. The pixel electrode 15 includes a non-overlap part 15a which extends in the first direction d1 beyond a side edge of the projection part 24 at the tip of the side overlapping with the reflection area R3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
