A switching device using an antenna of a mobile communication terminal and a controlling method are provided to sense a signal of a DC voltage applied to a controller when the antenna is pressed, and to control the terminal according to the length of the sensed signal, thus a user can input various function selections by selecting one of plural input signals according to patterns of pressing the antenna. A switching device comprises as follows. An antenna is disposed on a body(2) in order to be pressed thereon. A switch contact(40) is disposed so that the antenna is contacted when the antenna is pressed, and is electrically connected to a controller(34). The antenna comprises as follows. An antenna apparatus(32A) is electrically connected with the controller(34). An antenna cap(32B) surrounds an upper part of the antenna, and forms an external shape of the antenna. A contact(32C) is protruded from a lower part of the antenna cap(32A) in order to be connected with the switch contact(40) when the antenna cap(32B) is pressed.
