<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roof-type paper container which improves the stiffness of a side so that its barrel is prevented from swelling to keep the container carried even by one hand without being slipped. <P>SOLUTION: The roof-type paper container 1 is formed by being sealed into a rectangular tube from a packaging material 2 the paper base material 62 of which is covered with an external layer 61 of a thermoplastic resin, an adhesive layer 65, and an internal layer 66 and keeps both ends 5a and 5b of the rectangular tube 5 folded and sealed so that a roof-type top 28 and a flat bottom 29 are formed. Each of sides 8 (8a, 8b, 6c, and 8d) of the rectangular tube 5 between the bottom 29 and top 28 has a projection 9 parallel to the bottom 29. An area continuous with each projection 9 on a ridge line 10 between the adjacent sides 8 and in the vicinity 10a of the ridge line 10 is defined as a recessed area 11.
