<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the capacity of a memory required for storing an image showing color unevenness and the number of images showing color unevenness in the case of applying color separation to the image to correct color unevenness. <P>SOLUTION: An image read unit 11 applies color separation to turn a text image in CMY colors (ternary colors) into three RGB images. An image memory 208 stores images (e.g. three RGB images selected as default) selected by an image selection section 206. A correction arithmetic circuit 210 acquires image data from the image memory 208, detects color unevenness (contrast of color), regards occurrence of color unevenness in an image in the complementary color of a color of the image whose color unevenness is detected, calculates a correction amount (density conversion amount) for correcting the image so that no color unevenness is caused in the image in the complementary color of the color of the image whose color unevenness is detected, and creates a conversion table for correcting the color unevenness on the basis of the calculated correction amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
