PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a driving circuit with fewer switching elements when a discharge lamp such as a fluorescent lamp is driven. SOLUTION: The driving circuit for a discharge lamp has a pair of driving transformers with a primary coil of each of the driving transformer being driven by a plurality of the switching elements, and a secondary coil being connected to a discharge lamp; and drives the discharge lamp by high-frequency driving signals different in phase from each other.
